The year 2026 began with a powerful three-part message series from Pastor Charles R. Gibson entitled “Follow the Leader.” Through the first three Sundays of the year — January 4th, 11th, and 18th — Pastor C. challenged us to examine what it truly means to follow God by walking like Jesus did.

The series began with “Surrender,” reminding us that following God requires us to lay ourselves down by first yielding our will to His. The steps to Surrender include:

• Denying Self (Luke 9:23)
• Knowing Jesus is Lord and not a Consultant (Romans 10:9)
• Making a Daily Decision to Crucify the Flesh (Colossians 3:5)
• Knowing That Surrender Unlocks Direction (Proverbs 3:5-6)
• Jesus Modeling Surrender by Surrendering His Will to the Father's Will (Luke 22:42)

On January 11th, “Trust Over Fear” challenged us again to walk like Jesus and not allow fear to paralyze us from moving ahead in the things of God. Pastor C. showed us that fear doesn't always scream or look like panic; sometimes, it whispers. It wants us to hold on to control rather than let go and depend on God.

The series concluded with “Step Out in Faith,” encouraging us to move beyond simply believing God and to boldly act (or step out) on the faith we have in God. We saw this firsthand in Jesus' encounter with the Canaanite woman who demonstrated a persistent faith. Jesus restoring her shows us that He honors faith that steps out and challenges faith that hesitates. Most times, God's requirements will not come with an instructional manual. True faith will not explain the destination but will always demand obedience.

Together, these messages set the tone for the year with a powerful reminder: when God is leading, our responsibility is to follow.

March 8th marked a day that we Harvesters celebrated in the fashion only we can! We sang, danced, jumped, waved, praised, marched, and shouted, all in gratitude and adoration to God!

HDC commemorated its 14th Church Birthday and 14 years of pastoral ministry under the leadership of Pastor Charles Gibson.

Fourteen years is a testimony of God's faithfulness through many seasons of challenges, growth, and victories. As we gathered in worship, we celebrated not only where God has brought us, but also the journey that continues ahead.

Our service was made even more special by our guest speaker Bishop Roy Burrows, and Pastor Oslien Jadorte, who blessed us through special music. Together, their contributions made it all a memorable occasion.

The Word came from Philippians 3:13–14 with the powerful topic, “Continue to Press Forward; the Prize is at the End.” What a fitting word for a church observing 14 years! We may celebrate how far we have come, but we are not stopping here.

On April 5th, the Fine Arts Ministry of HDC presented Can't Turn Back, a powerful Easter production centered around Pastor Paul Anderson and his family.

Through the dedication and talent of the cast and production team, the story came alive through drama, song, and dance, making for an engaging and memorable Easter presentation.

When Pastor Paul dared to ask God to use his life for His glory, he soon discovered that answering that call would come with a cost. The enemy of opposition seeped into every area of his life: his family, his ministry, and the church he was called to lead. Yet, despite the turbulence, something deeper began to happen: his prayer life intensified, and his dependence on God grew stronger.

The story is filled with family struggles, betrayal, difficult choices, and moments that will make you laugh, think, and perhaps even see yourself in one of the characters. But at its heart, Can't Turn Back asks one powerful question:

On May 3rd, HDC members traded traditional Sunday attire for T-shirts and joggers! The brainchild of Lead Pastor Charles Gibson, 2J Sunday had Harvesters coming together in customized HDC shirts.

This special touch created a wonderful sense of unity and camaraderie as we worshipped, fellowshipped, and enjoyed a day filled with energy and excitement.

The day was further energized by local recording artist Cara T. Newton, who blessed us with her musical gifts. She promised to come back (wink, wink)… and we'll see her soon!

And the Word? It was delivered from four voices within HDC: Elder Clevette Gibson, Minister Tyronne Knowles, Executive Pastor Jeffrey Rolle, and Lead Pastor Charles Gibson. Each brought a unique perspective to the thought-provoking topic, “The Right Name Makes the Difference.”

May 29th is a night to remember! A clarion call was sounded for all praise and worshipers to gather at HDC for Praise Break — an evening centered on one powerful response to God: praise.

The night was more than singing and dancing; it was one of declaration. As we lifted our voices in one accord, we declared God's Word over our lives for:

• Home Ownership
• Healing
• Relationships
• Financial Blessing & Increase

We proclaimed His promises, surrendered our will to His, and trusted Him to order our steps.

June 28th was a special Sunday at HDC as we came together in faith, gratitude, and obedience to honor God with our increase, inspired by Proverbs 3:9.

With grateful hearts and great expectation, members of HDC sowed toward the building of the Lord's temple, believing that what we give is not simply an offering, but an expression of our faith, our stewardship, and our commitment to building God's house.

It was a beautiful reminder that we are building together, each person playing a part in something bigger than ourselves and investing in the work God has entrusted to us.

The Dance & Fine Arts Ministry helped set the atmosphere with a special presentation, followed by a powerful Word from Pastor C. entitled “Resemblance from Relationship.”
